CDSM has been selected as an approved supplier by the Government Procurement Services Information Management and Learning Services (IMLS) Framework. The Framework will be used by schools, academies and local authorities to select and purchase learning platforms and management information systems.

The selection process was undertaken after extensive and thorough research into the needs of educational establishments across the UK, ensuring that only the providers with the highest quality products and services would be selected for the Framework. CDSM’s My Learning Space platform passed with flying colours, which is a reflection of the work and effort put in by CDSM and our community of users.

My Learning Space is now recognised and endorsed by the UK government for procurement at School, Academy and Local Authority level.

Selection for the framework ensures that My Learning Space continues to go from strength to strength. It is rapidly establishing itself in the UK as the learning platform of choice for schools and academies who want technology to support their vision of teaching & learning.

Steve Finch, Head of Business Development at CDSM, said: “We’re delighted to have My Learning Space approved by the Framework. Schools, academies and local authorities can now focus on choosing a learning platform that best fits the school without the usual procurement hurdles, saving them time and money which can be better spent on teaching and learning. We’re thrilled to know that our efforts in developing a class-leading learning platform based on the direct feedback of teachers and learners across the UK have all been worth it – validation from both the community of users and the UK government “.

The schools, Abersychan Secondary School and Monmouth Comprehensive School, are the first to benefit from (our/CDSM’s) partnership with the two authorities, which will see the learning management system introduced to all eleven secondary schools across the two counties by the end of the summer term.

CDSM’s partnership with Cambridge University Press goes from strength to strength as their marquee blended learning solution continues to demonstrate considerable success in the marketplace.

The Touchstone Blended Learning course was a world first and provided Cambridge with a competitive advantage upon its launch. It’s since been enjoying significant success in the marketplace through a combination of Cambridge’s world-leading pedagogy and CDSM’s technology platform. It’s unique approach allows organisations to choose their proportion of blend between the classroom-based material and full library of eLearning modules.

Following a rigorous procurement process, CDSM stood head and shoulders above the competitors and have subsequently been providing consultancy services and innovative eLearning development products to Cambridge for over 2 years. This period has seen global rollout and considerable growth within the organisation of CDSM’s products and services, strengthening the relationship and providing a platform for Cambridge to differentiate in the marketplace.

CDSM will continue to present new and innovative solutions to Cambridge and are looking forward to some exciting new developments in 2012.

With the downturn in the global economy, businesses are exploring ways to reduce costs and realise value for money more than ever before. Training is a necessity for all business and traditionally this can represent significant fixed costs.

Proof that CDSM’s products and services are more relevant than ever is the continued success of our corporate eLearning strategy. We’ve expanded our consultancy and service to comprehensively cover sectors such as engineering, automotive and Health and Safety. We are transforming the way our clients and partners diagnose and deliver training.

We’ve been innovating and piloting new ways of delivering effective blended learning across organisations with great effect. The perfect mix of learning outcomes are the results of our experience and efforts: increased retention, reduction in costs of delivery and improved attainment. Our capability and experience affords us a contribution at all levels of the organisation. Large organisations are working with us to implement centres of excellence and eAcademies as a Managed Learning Service. Our models of implementation are gaining traction and shifting expectations of how cost effective a digital strategy can be.

We’ve recognised the shift over the last 18 months away from desktop devices and towards mobile and tablet which has lead us to develop a unique way of publishing content compatible with all platforms.

2011 has been a fantastic year for CDSM – here’s to 2012…

RTS eSolutions choose CDSM for automotive sectorCDSM have teamed up with the RTS Group to provide specialist training modules and delivery platforms to provide contemporary mobile and tablet-based training solutions for its automotive customers.

Providing an alternative for car dealerships to their existing heavy-duty LMS platforms, RTS and CDSM have identified opportunities to deliver high-quality, media-rich and cross-platform eLearning content through a quick and easy to use ‘lite’ LMS. This allows the delivery of specific training programmes to staff members with little or no risk and an extremely short lead-in time.

Administration of the platform requires very little effort and full reports of the learners progress can be accessed and exported easily. It’s a simple, smart and extremely effective way of delivering training and tracking results. We’re envisaging a industry shift towards content and platforms like this in the coming months – but remember you heard it here first!

CDSM is happy with securing their sipplier framework success for E2BN

We’re happy to report that CDSM has been selected as part of E2BN’s learning platform supplier framework.

“E2BN is the Learning Grid for the East of England and regional provider of the National Education Network. E2BN supplies schools with broadband services and innovative online learning projects.”

CDSM’s My Learning Space is our secondary school learning platform solution and ‘Junior’ is our new primary school solution.

We genuinely look forward to having a great chance at supplying our solutions into schools situated in the East of England.

We think our solutions are different! We belive that we distinguish ourselves from most of the other LP providers on the framework because CDSM understands the school as an organisation, and we understand its teachers, parents and students as end-users.

CDSM solutions are out-of-the-box, designed by educators for teachers, students and parents. With CDSM’ solutions there is no need for your organisation to employ or deploy IT personnel in order to configure cumbersome LP solutions. With our devolved teacher and student-friendly approach there is no risk of concentrating too much responsibility on one member of staff or department even. The My Learning Space and ‘Junior’ approach insures you from the impact of losing trained staff that then sets back your school’s implementation strategy.

So whether you are a school who has not invested in a learning platform solution or you are a school seeking to refresh its LP solution unhappy with your present solution. Contact us and discuss the value of our solutions. Join us on a journey that we promise will help you to deliver 21st century learning in your school now!

We had a great BETT 2011. So I just wanted to say thank you to all customers, partners and colleagues who were at CDSM’s stand this year.

‘Junior’ our new primary learning platform went down a storm with teachers at BETT. Our strategy for teacher, student and parental inclusion really caught the imagination of many of our visitors including some competitors who may be a little envious right now.

Pedagogue managed to attract a number of publishers this year. All the major names came up and were hugely complimentary about the collaborative environment and the number of template and assessment types on offer. However what really excited learning designers was Pedagogue’s ‘Sequence Editor’ feature and how easy it was to design learning experiences that were more complex than simple linear content and assessment sequences. This seemed to attract more secondary colleagues who had seen content tools as a typical primary product.

Last, but by no means least, there was a huge amount of interest from Independent Schools excited at the chance of accessing My Learning Space. Clearly a great number of schools don’t want or don’t have the resources to get involved in unpacking a Moodle, SharePoint or Frog solution. Many really got our approach to teaching and learning via the learning platform and remarked on how that differentiated us from our competition!

Overall, it was an excellent way for CDSM to start 2011. We need to continue is our hard work and innovation to continue to really make a difference to all schools who are choosing our products and services.
